Extending the Love of Jesus to Our Community

Life Care is the local mission project of Life Church Sunshine Coast, dedicated to sharing the compassionate love of Christ with those in need.

Our heart is to support those in need in our community by providing food, clothing, friendship, and essential resources. But more than that, we aim to create a space where people feel seen, valued, and supported—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Through our programs, we aim to alleviate suffering, promote dignity, and foster a sense of belonging worth and hope among those facing adversity, embodying the principles of love, compassion, and service exemplified by Jesus Christ.

Mathew 25:34–40

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Services

At Life Care, we offer practical support through a range of programs designed to meet both physical and spiritual needs:

Through our Pantry Program we provide individualised basic essentials packs to support people in crisis. This might include meal essentials, hygiene products and basic household resources. Access into the program is by interview and is short term support only.

Our Life Care Op Shop is more than just a store; it’s a place of dignity and support. We provide quality second-hand clothing at affordable prices, emergency care packages, and a pathway for people to connect with Life Care and Life Church. Every purchase and donation helps sustain our mission. We accept donations of clean, undamaged clothing between 10 am and 1:30 pm Tuesday – Thursday. Please bring all donations inside the shop – we don’t accept donations outside of these hours and do not have drop off facilities.

Our Tea Room is open from 10 am – 1:30 pm and visitors to the tea room can make them selves breakfast, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a chat. Our tea room also offers free fresh produce and bread to the community. BYO Bag!

Held the first Sunday of every month, we provide a free cooked breakfast and  extend the opportunity to hop on board the Life Care bus and join us for our 9:30am church service.

Join us for a BBQ lunch and a time of God-conversation and prayer.

Join us for morning tea and friendship as we talk about God, life and pray together.

Whether through prayer, encouragement, or visits to hospitals, nursing homes, and prisons, we strive to bring hope and comfort to those facing illness or hardship. Looking ahead, we hope to expand our support with basic health checks, peer support groups, and pastoral care initiatives. If you need any support, please reach out, we are here to help.
